St. Gertrude of Nivelles, a Benedictine nun from the 7th, is known as the patron saint of cats. In this case the statue was made of papier-mâché: the core inside is an iron skeleton, later covered with blocks of polystyrene. A careful sculpting operation was then performed on it. The last step is to model the papier-mâché on the shape obtained until the work is complete.
