Avolio

The armor of this Sicilian puppet is inspired by the famous motifs of ceramics typical of eastern Sicily.

The peculiarity of this work, which belongs to the cycle of innovative creations of 2021, is the un-chiseled copper. The surface was left purposely smooth so that it could be painted with oil paints, highlighting the baroque decorations on a white enamel base. The papier-mâché face and robes in a purple brocade with orange ornaments stand out against the light-colored armor in an unprecedented harmony.
